Francorp recently signed up VIBES Massage
headed by Mr. Dante Tiosan, to have its VIBES Massage Clinic Franchise
developed and launched into the franchise market starting December this year.
A SEC-Registered multi-awarded corporation
with almost 50 outlets located in malls, airports, parks and major commercial
areas, VIBES Massage has become popular in employing visually-impaired massage
therapists. The blind massage therapists of the Philippines are well-written about and cited in
international and tourism journals in Asia, Europe and Americas as a world
class quality massage that is both
therapeutic and rejuvenating.
The unique VIBES concept was spotted by no
less than the Father of Philippine Franchising himself, Mr Samie Lim, whom as
early as the 1990s, believed in their capability and uniqueness to franchise in
the future, especially after he read in one of the tourism journals in his trip
to Europe that “the blind masseurs in the Philippines is one of the world’s
best.” This moved him to look for them in Manila and since then, the VIBES
Massage has been featured regularly as Francorp CSR Project in the Philippine Franchise Associations’ annual franchise
expo, which Mr Samie Lim heads as chairman.
Since they started in 1992, the mission of VIBES
has been to give gainful employment and opportunities to the visually-impaired
and disabled and their dependents so that they can live productive lives. They
have put up a special massage training for the blind and disabled in Quezon
City, to achieve this purpose. To date, they have trained and employed almost
500 visually impaired massage therapists and about 150 sighted dependents of
persons with disabilities.
VIBES which stands for “Visually Impaired
Brotherhood for Excellent Services”, which is accredited by DSWD and the
Department of Tourism, is a recipient of numerous awards such as the Apolinario
Mabini Award for "Best Employer for the Disabled", the SIKAP Award of
RCBC as "Best Disabled Organization" and HAMIS Awards from the
Department of Health.
